The Beef Stew for You

My wife said, “You made a really good beef stew a few years ago.” I don’t remember what I made, but it wasn’t this one.

Things You’ll Need for this Beef Stew

  1. Crock Pot
  2. ~2lbs of stew beef (usually cut up already)
  3. 3-4 large carrots
  4. 3 large potatoes
  5. Clove of garlic
  6. 2 Tbsp of brown sugar
  7. 2 tsp of hot paprika
  8. 2 Tbsp of flour
  9. 3-4 tsp of pepper
  10. 1 tsp of garlic powder
  11. 1 tsp of salt
  12. 2 Tbsp of Canola oil
  13. 3 cups of beef broth
  14. 1 cup of dry red wine
  15. Sliced mushrooms(if you want)
  16. About 4.5 hours on high in crock pot. About 6 or 7 hours on low in crock pot.
  17. Can do attitude
Got this stew meat. 1.34 pounds of it.
Made this mix to flip the meat around in. 2 Tbsp of flour, 3 or 4 tsp of pepper, 2 tsp of hot paprika, 1 tsp of garlic powder, and 1 tsp of salt
Flipped the meat in the bowl of seasonings and everything is pretty coated.
Browned the meat in two batches about 5 minutes a pop in 2 Tbsp of Canola Oil
Cut up and peeled 4 long carrots and 3 potatoes. Half a pack of sliced mushrooms. Smashed clove of garlic. 3 cups of beef broth. 1 cup of dry red wine. 2 Tbsp of brown sugar.
4 hours later on high I added 2 Tbsp of corn starch mixed with 2 Tbsp of cold water. Stirred it up and cooked for another 20 minutes.
Finally I enjoyed it with a tasty beer.
